WHOAH.
ReplyDeleteYou literally just changed my perception of what a museum is. Though I've been perceived as being a visual artist, I never really had a keen sense of what it all is about. I just know that certain colors pleased me, black and white and simple lines always attracted me, and once in a while a painting would move me. BUT today, as I sit here with your fabulous choice of music, I think, finally at my age, I GET IT.
If we're aware of what is in us and around us, we TEACH each other the passions that we have adopted and that live inside of us. I may inspire others to appreciate French, poetry, dance, theatre and other things I love. But the "audience" only responds if they've been prepared. I think it's been over a period of time that I've finally been able to "connect the dots" and see how poetry, music and LIGHT all come together in these fine paintings, that years ago, I may have liked, but not appreciated.
A museum IS a place (and forgive me for my childish declaration here, as if I discovered this!!!!) but it is a place to not only show the strokes of genius and color, texture and perception, but to celebrate each individual human eye, mind and heart. How each artist perceives technique and uses it, in itself, is the art to be admired.
THANK YOU FOR THIS TOUR of an extraordinary museum viewing today my dear, dear friend.
MUSIC: PERFECT!
VISUALS: STUNNING!

Precious heart! I am so sorry to be on the run; now that I have to drive Ruben to work this morning, it means getting out of here NOW! Thank you for coming to view the photos with few words...seems as if people like my posts when there are less words and more photos...oh well. LOVE YOU!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed this reverie, and will come back to it again and again. Love, Sandra
ReplyDeleteHello my dear,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to visit today. It's so funny because I was just thinking about you and wondering if you posted on your Gypsy blog. These images are wonderful, and I love the one with the woman and the red flowers. May I use it someday on a post? It is absolutely beautiful. It's nice to have a room of our own. I also love the picture of the girl sipping on tea. I have been wanting to redecorate my guest bedroom, and you have given me some ideas.
Have a sweet day.
Love,
~Sheri

ReplyDeleteSuch intimate spaces, each with the unique qualities noted by the artist... perhaps a lost memory.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have enjoyed your summer. It will be some time before we notice a season-change here but just a drop in the humidity makes me think of autumn...

Genie
You Who Irina...hope your weekend is fun and wonderful...thank you for visiting...xoxo EdenClare
ReplyDeleteIrini, This post just made me laugh out loud ( not what you would expect, right?), But it brought back the memory of my first "own room". Finally free of my dreaded older sister I could decorate my new room any way I wished. I PAINTED EVERYTHING LAVENDER. The bed, the dressing table, the walls and all the fabrics were shades of lavender or lavender prints; sometimes a bit of purple sneaked in. It was really over- the-top, but I loved it from the age of 9 to 13... that's when I "grew up" and began collecting antiques instead.
ReplyDeleteOh! I adore all of these portraits and paintings. They are so breathtaking! (I don't care for still life paintings, they are usually boring and have no character, unless it is a vase of roses, hydrangeas, or other flowers). I could 'go' for that library painting any day as I love reading books and love home libraries.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these fine paintings by famous artists.
Smiles to you!
And have a blessed week.

How are you, lovely Irina? Thank you so much for this perfect post. Between the music and the beautiful images, I could have sworn I was swept off my feet into the clouds. But I think more than anything it was your kind spirit that lingers on this page. Does not matter how perfect the rest is, it's the heart behind the creativity.
ReplyDeleteI've missed you. Catching up today. I've left my old page open so that I may stay in touch with my dear blogging friends.
Much love.
xoxo
Thankyou for stopping by Irina and for your lovely words! I am feeling better thank you :) Finally! I hope you are doing well too. Always lovely to hear from you!

This was so very perfect...thank you...
ReplyDeleteSo uplifting and inspiring...as always, my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a delight to see your name pop up in my comments. I wanted to stop by sooner, but I'm definitely doing less visiting these days. After my husband and I set up our office (for our new business), and I fell into a routine, I tried reactivation Gathering at the Table but could not, so here I am. I'm sorry if I lost track, but I could have sworn I had stopped over when I opened the new page. I apologize if it slipped my mind.
It's good to hear from you, Irina.
